The Spirit of Christmas As December 25 arrives The Christmas bells start to come alive All the little children tuck in for the night As they wait in awe for the father of light And for one night we all are overcome with peace The single night when modern civilization starts to seize Tomorrow when we get out of our beds We will have nothing but joyful thoughts inside of our heads And even though much of us have grown more elderly This day gives us the right to decline maturity This day gives us all a reason to be appreciative We must all learn to be more perceptive Thinking of all the little girls and boys Who are without the gift of simple wooden toys Finally, as I write this poem to stop the spirit of Christmas from pulling apart I can’t help but feel this hole in my burning heart And as I finish this sentence, I have but one more thing to say I wish you all a wonderful Christmas, and hope you all remember my amazing sister, Eden “the princess” Rae. Merry Christmas to the entire world!
